Our Couture Tailoring tailored bodice fit, hem and bustle. Two appointments approximately 8 weeks and 4 weeks before the wedding date with Misty (more or less if needed). Complex Tailoring includes re-sizing once or twice and additional detail (straps/ lace), which includes an additional fitting before collection.

Express Service Couture Tailoring Package

Express Service is for a short time frame to the wedding date and inside of the normal fitting times of a Basic Package. Our Couture Tailored bodice fit, hem and bustle.Two to Three appointments with Misty and Susan (more or less if needed).

Signature Couture Tailoring Package

$1000

Signature Package includes custom changes (ie. add cap sleeves, long sleeves) Couture Tailored bodice (re-sizing), hem and bustle. Two to Four appointments with Misty and Susan (more or less if needed).

All appointments for our Tailoring service are exclusively for Annabel’s brides only and will be booked in on your behalf, at the time of your gown confirmation of delivery text or email. For privacy and for Misty and Susan to give you their utmost attention, appointments take place on a weekday. You will receive a friendly reminder text a few days before each appointment. A minimum of 50% deposit is required at your first appointment and the remaining balance, at the final fitting appointment. If you require at any stage further adjustments or request additional changes or fittings this will increase your tailoring package.

What is ‘Couture Tailoring’?

It’s our signature alterations process.  With experience of over 40yrs between Misty & Susan, in fitting, tailoring, beading, pressing and quality control, we alter your wedding dress to perfection.  Your dedicated fitter will properly sculpt the dress in the bust, waist and hips to your liking in 2 fittings (more or less as needed).  The Couture Tailoring fit also includes a hem and bustle.

Undergarments & What to Wear

To properly fit your gown, you’ll need to know what undergarments you plan to wear on your wedding day.  We suggest that you bring a supportive bra or shapewear to each fitting appointment. If you are unsure about the bra, your fitter will advise you and you can purchase from Stephanie’s Boutique Lingerie on the Lawns Manuka. Besides properly fitting the dress through your bodice and hips, we will ensure that the hem is completed to your specifications and heel height. You want your dress to be the perfect length on your wedding day–that is why its important to bring your wedding shoes to each of your fitting appointments. With that, wedding shoes are required for all of your fittings. If you do not have the exact pair of shoes you’d like to wear on your wedding day yet, please make sure to bring along a pair of shoes that are the same style and height (think platforms for platforms, stilettos for stilettos, etc.). This way, your dress hem is the appropriate length and is fitted properly, as different styles of shoes change your posture and can alter the fit of your dress.   

What’s a Bustle?

While the custom fit and hem are in the works, your fitter will also discuss the best bustle options for your train.  A bustle gathers up the train of your dress to keep it from dragging on the floor during your dinner and reception.  There are a few bustle types to select from which can be secured with buttons and loops or ties.  You’ll work with your fitter and discuss different bustle options for your wedding dress.  At your final fitting, Misty will teach you and your bridesmaid or family member how to bustle your dress so you can dance the night away and some helpful tips for the special day. We want to you feel beautifully confident and comfortable.

When do you collect your beautiful gown?

After your final fitting, we will make arrangements with you, to collect the gown for your day or to travel with.  The gown is pressed, steamed and/ or packed with tissue paper so it maintains its shape. The dress will  be covered in an opaque garment bag and will be ready to step into on your wedding day.
